A Church of England School

We are very proud to be a Church of England School and our Christian Values of Joy, Integrity and Fellowship underpin all that we do in our school.  Our Christian Values were defined by our children, staff and governors.  Our commitment to our foundation as a Church school is also shown in our Vision.  You can see both of these as an attachment to the side of the page.  Our Hayfield Cross Promise is our mission statement which sets out what we expect for our children every day in school and is on every page of our website.  In the sidebar on this page you will also find our schools definition of ‘Spirituality’ which forms the basis of our times of reflection and collective worship.

We are a Voluntary Aided maintained school and are in the Deanery of the Diocese of Peterborough and as a Church school we nurture the children in a Christian environment and celebrate the main Christian festivals as well as take part in regular worship.  Our children share our school prayer together each day as well as our lunchtime prayer and we have an assembly each day with Wednesday Worship being focused on stories of the Bible and the teachings of Jesus.  Wednesday Worship is regularly taken by the clergy from our two Churches Christ the King (www.ctk.org.uk) and St.Botolph’s (www.stbots.org.uk) who we have a strong working relationship with.  Representatives from both Churches are on our Governing board and we also have opportunities to visit both Churches through the year.  In Religious Education we follow the Northamptonshire Agreed Syllabus which teaches the children to understand and celebrate different religions and beliefs from around the world.
