Bumblebee Class (Reception) Blog

Reception have had lots of fun celebrating the upcoming Royal Wedding. We prepared a royal wedding breakfast, built St George’s Chapel with magnetico, created royal crowns and painted portraits of Queen Elizabeth. We then enjoyed a delicious royal picnic on the field today. We prepared and ate cucumber sandwiches, scones, strawberries and finished it off with a delicious fruit punch! Congratulations Prince Harry and Meghan from all of Reception!

As part of our 'Under the Sea' topic we had lots of fun visiting the Sea-Life Centre in Birmingham this term.

Bumblebee Class were very excited and eager to board the big double decker bus for our trip to the Sea-Life Centre. There was a buzz of excitement and curiosity about marine phenomena in the natural world as we explored the aquarium. Bumblebee Class loved seeing the magnificent Sharks, colourful Clownfish and the inquisitive Sea Turtles. We particuarly enjoyed watching the  penguins swimming, diving and jumping into the water and we even got to see them being fed.

As part of the visit we attended the 4D cinema showing of 'Splash and Bubbles' filled with music, fun, splashes and everyone’s favorite citizens of the sea!

We saw a huge Ocotopus, learnt lots of new facts about jelly fish and walked through an amazing Ocean Tunnel where sharks, a giant turtle and colourful fish swam over us. We even got the chance to touch a 'Mermaids Purse' which we learnt is the egg sack of a dogfish.

What a super day of learning in a new and exciting envrionment. We were extremely proud of Reception's brilliant behaviour during the trip and would like to say a big THANKYOU to all the adults who supported us.
