Chair of Quality and Standards: Foundation Governor

Personal Statement

I have been a Foundation Governor since the school opened in the Autumn Term 2015. Before this I was a member of the Temporary Governing Body. So, I have been involved with Hayfield Cross Church of England Primary School from the very beginning, before it was even built!

I am a Christian and an active member of St Botolphs’ Church, Barton Seagrave. I am married, have a grown-up family and I am a very proud grandparent.

I am semi-retired from working in Education. I have worked as a Teacher, Head teacher and School Adviser in a wide variety of Primary Schools for the whole of my working career.

It is a real privilege and joy to be involved with the setting up of a brand-new Church of England School. It has been very exciting to see the very first classes of children entering the school. The Head teacher and staff have made a fantastic start in establishing a happy, vibrant environment where all children can learn well in a school with a Christian ethos. I look forward to continuing to contribute to its success as a Governor.
