We have had a very exciting first week back as Key Stage 1 & 2 have been enjoying Wonka Week, a creative learning week based around Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  They have had a huge range of different learning experiences within this including problem solving, science, writing, artwork, design technology, cookery (with a lot of chocolate!), dance, PE, research and (of course!) reading.  In our Celebration Assembly on Friday we heard about all the amazing the things each class have done and saw some of the work including Year 3’s brilliantly choreographed Oompa-Loompa dance. We will be uploading photos from the week onto the school blog soon and there will be highlights added from each class to their own blogs too.

Hedgehog Class have had a brilliant time in their outdoor area this week using their brand new mud kitchen which was very kindly made by Miss Polson's father.  This has been used in the afternoons when the chidren have been exploring in their theme lessons (remember the mornings are dedicated to core-learning with Phonics, English and Maths).  It is a brilliantly made kitchen and parents will be very pleased to hear that we have bought new aprons for Year 1 for when they are using it (and painting!).  Keep an eye on Hedgehogs Class blog where more information and photos of the children in the mud kitchen will be posted soon.
