Dear prospective Hayfield Cross families

Thank you for your interest in Hayfield Cross Church of England School and considering us as the right place to start your child’s lifelong love of learning.  Choosing the right primary school for your child is a big decision as it will be a place where they grow and build many wonderful childhood memories.

Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 we are not able to hold our usual parent tours during the Autumn Term for you to see Hayfield Cross in action.  We had arranged a series of Covid safe tours after school through November/December so that we could meet you and you could get to see the school.  Sadly, on the 31st October the Government announced that we will be going into a second lockdown from the 5th November so these tours are no longer possible.

We are undeterred though and instead have recorded a virtual tour (above) and a showcase entitled 'Growing Pioneers of the Future' which you will hopefully have seen when you opened the website front page so you can still get a flavour of what our amazing school is all about.

We hope that you will consider Hayfield Cross as the right place for your child to start their education.  If you do choose to come, we would love to be able to invite you into school later in the year when hopefully things are better.

In the meantime, if you would like to know more about Hayfield Cross please visit our website ( which is full of information about our school.  We regularly use Twitter @hayfield_cross and all of our classes have their own Twitter feeds which are also linked on the class pages of our website (so you can see them even if you don’t use Twitter).  This is a great way to see what life at Hayfield Cross is like and especially what your child could be doing in Reception next year

(NB: this is ONLY for Reception Class 2021 children, if you are enquiring about another year group please see the admissions information on our website)

Please note that the application window for September 2021 Reception places closes in January 2021 and information can be found on the County Council website:
