We know Hayfield Cross is an incredible place but also understand that there is more to your child's time in our school than just learning great things through our curriculum. We appreciate the importance of making sure that our children really get the most out of their time with us and as such aim to provide lots of additional opportunities for them. Some of these actvities are delivered by expert companies and coaches and come with a cost for parents, whilst others are delivered by our own team free of charge.
Please see below for more details of the ways in which your child's time at Hayfield Cross can be made even more memorable.
Wrap-Around Club
Term-Time Extra-Curricular Clubs
Pacesetter Sports
Pacesetter offer a wide range of clubs to our children, of all abilities, focusing on "taking part" in the activity and ensuring children feel good about themselves, keep fit and make friends! Click the image above for a description of all of the Pacesetter sport clubs, what the clubs entail and what the children should wear. You can also use this link to book your child on to a club.
Rocksteady Music School
Learning an instrument should be fun. Your child can choose from the electric guitar, keyboard, drums or vocals and enjoy playing in a happy, supportive environment with their friends. The Rocksteady Programme is for all children aged 4-11 and is proven to progress musicianship, confidence and teamwork skills with no prior experience necessary. If your child is 'ready to rock', please contact the office to make your booking.
NMPAT Peripatetic Music Lessons
Inspire. Nurture. Excel. Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts trust is the county’s biggest arts teaching provider, providing lessons inside and outside of schools. Many of our pupils enjoy NMPAT instrumental lessons and if you would like your child involved, please contact the school office.
Atomic Science
Click on the Atomic Science logo to be taken to their webpage and find out about them and all things Science! Parents will be contacted about the Atomic Science after-school club by the school office, including details on how to book a space for your child.
BHVA Dance & Drama squads
During the academic year, we work alongside Beccy Hurrell Voice & Arts Ltd. They use the power of the arts to grow the talents of our children through dance, drama and voice. Parents will be sent information about the squads, but you can also book directly with them at this link.
Hayfield Cross Extra-Curricular Activities
Team Orange offer a range of exciting activities for the children to access outside of lesson time. There is the ever-popular crochet club, sessions to develop mindfulness, and sessions to enhance and refine all-important board games skills. Some of our children are selected to develop computing skills across the school as Digital Leaders, whilst others enjoy Puzzle Magic! Other popular clubs include our Spiritual Ambassadors who help design and deliver our collective worship sessions; the Eco Club, which promotes sustainability across the school and community; and our Young Voices choir who practise and prepare to join with other schools across the country in a huge concert! Children will also have the opportunity to join a gardening club, the Times Table Rock Stars club, cheerleading squad and the school newspaper editors!
Details of these clubs and more will be sent out via ParentMail across the academic year. Some of these club will be offered at lunchtimes, where pupils can simply attend if they choose, whilst others will be after-school and will require parents to apply for a place.
